Run Willow Run: Party!

Soren is 1 today! Last evening we had a little party with a few people in James and Leanna's backyard. The Masts, Stutzmans, and James and Leanna were there. Our friends Jenny, Jason, and Zachary also came to celebrate. We missed our families who could not be there!
The party was low key and enjoyable. We watched Soren (Zachary helped too) smash his jello/whipped topping cake. Then gave the boys a bath. Silas really enjoyed the bath and couldn't wait for Soren to open his present, a punch balloon. Soren really enjoyed interacting with Silas as Silas showed him how it all worked.
Thanks for the lovely gifts, family! I think this year his favorite were the 'stars' (bows) used to decorate the gifts.
We are blessed to think about God's faithfulness to us this past year. Soren has had a lot more doctors appointments than I ever imagined, but he continues to check out healthy! I still ponder a lot, sometimes still try to reconcile grief and great joy. When we first met Soren we knew we were in for a great adventure. We did not know how great and sometimes mysterious the adventure would be. We can only look forward with hope because of all the goodness God has given this year.
