September Evening
We always have these big plans to make it to the mountains on the weekends. After napping and feeding, though, we rarely do. Yesterday was such a day. We woke up ready to go to Zion Mennonite Church and speak (which we did). We were invited to stay and have a picnic, came home for naps, were invited by our downstairs neighbor to have supper in front of the football game, then decided we'd really try to make this nature thing work. We pulled out at 6pm and made it, if not to the mountains, to Wildwood Park! It was lovely. We watched a friendly man throw his dog a ball in the water. The dog made a huge splash! Soren enjoyed swinging with his baba. And we found a great ice cream place in Bridgewater - Harvey's. Does no one know this place?! In the late evening light we saw a white-bearded gentleman sitting outside his little shop. Turns out this is him and he makes delicious homemade blends, several with ingredients from Italy, he said. We plan to return.
